Autumn and I picked up Papa Bruce at the airport yesterday morning. This time she wasn't timid around him at all. He sat in the back with her while I drove us to one of my fave places to eat...Black Bear Diner. She talked and talked to Dad and was ready to share more once we got inside. Phoenix did not fail and greeted Dad with 100 degrees right off the plane. Since we weren't really in the mood to go for a hike or hit a bucket of balls we came back to the nice cool casa.
Autumn was on fire! It was like she finally had an audience and no sleep would interrupt her performance! She danced and chatted away the afternoon even when I hit a wall and only wanted to sleep. It was fun to watch her so curious about her Papa Bruce. Before the house was packed we had photos of all her grandparents in front of her high chair. We would point everyone out, Papa, Grammie, Papa, Lala, Papa. It's amazing her first word wasn't Papa (like her Papa Bob worked so hard for)!
I am a very imperfect person and like clock work 3p.m brought on anxiety of what to do, what to pack, where to put all this stuff that is just laying around. I have a very hard time at the end of the day. The dark house with blinds closed, Autumns boredom, my boredom. I start to feel very overwhelmed and yesterday was no different. The nice thing was there was an adult to vent about it to. Usually I put on some tunes and roll around with Autumn and just shove the frustration away until of course Dana gets home. Finally a little after 4 A. tapped out and fell asleep, her Daddy snuck in shortly after. It was the strangest thing when she sort of woke up, she was so so upset but never opened her eyes. Dana held her, I held her and then she peed on me (that always lightens the mood) then she fell back to sleep. Not sure if it was a dream or discomfort but it hurt our hearts to see her so upset. When she did wake a couple hours later her nose was running like a faucet and we could hear the tell tale signs of a head cold. Oh boo. Not a good combo for a little one going on a plane soon but we do have the week to sweat it out. I'm excited today is Tuesday. I'm excited that next Tuesday I will be in Montana. I'm very excited that we will have a yard to run in and a small town to walk around and the woods right around the corner. I'm excited to tell this p.m anxiety to take a big fat flying leap. I'm excited!
