I must write fast! My children are sleeping! Today started great and is going great and has promise to keep being great. Dana is in the annual Kabinski golf tournament (if I spelled it wrong I don't care) but was home to help prepare the babes for our day. (Dana just walked in, see I wrote it into existence the day is continuing fabulous!) Anyway, let's start from the beginning, which was at 4 this morning. Dominic is an amazing alarm clock and since Autumn and I were bed hogs it was a good time to wake Dana on the couch and send him to bed. I decided that Molly and I would take a break from our walk so that I could let Dana sleep a bit longer before I was out the door to turbo class. Holy, holy this class is kicking my butt! and my hams, and my abs, and anything that doesn't like to be kicked! It energizes me for the day and it feels good to be doing something for me. When the van I drove (yes David, I drove a van this a.m) didn't start a woman I haven't met yet asked if I would like a ride. Well of course I did. I had no idea why this thing wouldn't start and I think I may have flooded it. Well it had no gas. No, I did not think of this nor did I even consider it. Thank goodness for PaBob and his infinite wisdom. As Dana and I were filling up two emergency vehicles screamed past. Usually I see them with lights and sirens but going reasonable. These were not, they were kicking up dust on a clean road. My heart kind of caught, my throat got a lump and I started to think "where is everyone?" Where are the B. Goodans, are my parents suprising me, where are the Bruchez, is Carlie in town, who is working and who is traveling, why can't they all stay home?! Omg who is it? Then I told myself to just let it go. I couldn't do anything about it anyway. I later talked with Dana and Liz about life in a small town that sirens take on different meanings. Most likely we know the people who need help, or we know their parents or our parents know them, or someone we know knows them. It's a very small town. After I had this rush of anxiety and took a mental time out and came back to the right here, right now, I just said a little prayer, thanked God that Dana and the kids were in my sights and moved on. It took me some time to get unfrazzled but my walk with my friend was great. There are 3 of us that walk pretty regular with our chitlins and occasionally someone else will join with their babes. It's an amazing time to be a mom and a friend and be real. Liz and I tackled Main street hill. Oofta...all I can say is oofta! Our pace is picking up and we can carry a conversation while pushing around the weight of the kids, I can't wait till Autumn can reach the ground on her new bike!
Dana and I recently took the kids on a day trip to Billings. We met up with Aunt Raquel at the mall. She brought treasures for my mother that will look great in MY yard;) She and I were walking around with Autumn when we hear "gotta potty Mom", "what's that Autumn you have to go potty?!" Before she could answer the Rock was speed walking down the aisles toward the bathroom and I'm flopping beside saying ok ok ok. We flew passed Dana, Dom and Uncle Vern and wa la! Baby G. peed in her first public restroom, way to go Autumn!!! She's been going with Dana at home, they are both lucky I'm not around as I would love some pictures of the two of them sitting on the pot.
Dominic is holding himself up on the first toddle, and screams if he slips into a split or onto his butt. Now instead of calming him by holding him (which we are so guilty of never really letting him cry it out) he calms when you stand him up. I'm thinking he may skip crawling so the baby proofing has begun again.
Yesterday, Autumn was "resta eyes" and I walked by to check on her. I could hear her talking and thought she was visiting with Bean or talking herself out of sleeping. Her eyes were closed and she was naming everyone she knows, including Molly and Bean. She would say two or three and then "AMEN". I watched for about five minutes until Bean ratted me out. It was probably the cutest thing I've witnessed her do so far...and she has done some very cute things.
Tomorrow the babes and I are off to GreatFalls to see our Meis/Graef familia and have a big ol play date in Lala's yard. Our babies travel well so it's a good time for all of us to just relax and take the day off.
We had Aunt Sharon and Uncle Mike over for dinner on Wednesday, they drove over from Watertown, South Dakota and even made it while the food was hot;) J/k they are on their way to Seattle and stopped in to meet Dana and the kids. It was hilarious! They both have a great sense of humor and honesty and I haven't seen them in years. More family coming next week, Papa Bruce from Seattle then the following week Aunt Sandy from New York, don't worry there will be pictures.
Now I feel like I just wrote a letter to my Grandmother, oh but wait I forgot, it's windy here. There now it has everything including the "I'm running out of things to say so I will talk about the weather", line.
Happy Labor Day F and F's. Now off to EAT!!!!
