Autumn loves to be in Dominic's crib or play pen anytime he is in it...obviously he loves it too!
Today was an incredible day with my little buddy Autumn. She is so amazing! The morning started as is becoming our routine, me up with the boy since Dana spent the night on Dom watch and at 6:30 when he is usually asleep again, Molly and I head out for our power walk up a hill that is starting to be easier. It looked like a mountain the first time and I was cursing myself for choosing it but I couldn't walk to the bottom and have anyone see me turn in defeat...since someone had to be eyeballing us at o' dark thirty. Dominic had other plans today so rather than wake Dana from a comfortable spoon with a cozy 2 year old, I dragged out the moby (a wrap for babies that I have not mastered) and made some interesting knots to secure Dom to my belly all before I put my shoes and coat on. Oh, I don't miss the prego belly. With the baby on the outside it made it more interesting trying to see my laces with him gumming my chin. We finally made it to the gate at 7a.m half hour behind schedule and Molly knew this for sure! She did good, but seemed a bit like she was on higher alert since "the boy" was with us. The hill became a mountain again. Half way up I thought of taking the first street off the dang thing and throwing in the towel but one look at the bright blue eyes and the grin ear to ear we pressed on and it ended just fine! A shower later some hustle bustle there to make Doms broccoli for the day and pack him for "the sitter", and Autumn and I were out the door for another walk. We have to call Grammie Jo "the sitter" when Autumn is around because she asks for brother but we can't tell or she will want to go too. My second walk of the day was dogless and with 3 hilarious ladies. I wish I could have been a passerby. As far as I know it was the first time a few of us had been together since high school but you wouldn't know it. We laughed, we whined, we swore (on accident, and got a time out from Autumn) and we were just real. I don't think we meant to walk as far as we did (we ended up on the other side of town and realizing we had to walk back eventually took a park break/breather). We planned to see each other tomorrow and went our merry ways.
Autumn gave me the "binky bottle burpa baby mom?" Her code for if you lay me down now I will sleep, at 11. I wanted to have a cutesy lunch date with her so today I pushed it, took shower 2, bird bathed the child and we were out the door again. A quick stop to see PaBob and "my boy Daddy" I drove out to my fave pizzeria for a quiet visit with our daughter. Too Busy!!! There must have been 5 or 6 cars in the LBM lot, too many for this Mama(I love small town!). So I drove on by and parked down town thinking we could stroll a bit and look for treasures. We ended up going to Domingas (I thought the ride in the elevator would be a treat) and when I unloaded Autumn she was sleeping. I was playing with lit dynamite. She bounced right out of it, asked the waitress for lemonade, thanked her and told her it was "darishish". We had soup (I fed her like I used to as she held her tummy saying "this is so good Mom") and we split a wrap, meaning she gutted the half I gave her and we picked out the meat and cheese. She helps me to see detail. She pointed out the apples they use as decoration, the water (a painting of the ocean), racoons in another painting and a man in blue with glasses. She sees everything. We finished up, ran down the hall to the elevator, jumped right before our floor and pushed the "huge button" to open the door like magic. Another stop at the dealership to give PaBob and Daddy a treasure (brownie and a cookie, PaBob shared his cookie with Autumn, the turkey, she ended up giving it to Daddy...good good girl!) and we were headed home. Sweet baby girl G was sound asleep as I flew into our newly construction free garage and didn't make a peep when I lay her down. I did this and that for about an hour and still no sign of waking so I crawled right next to her and smiled at the half hour I might get to rest my eyes. Two hours later my eyes opened all by themselves, looked over at Autumn "Hi Mom, you been sleepin?" "Yes, Autumn I feel great how bout you?!" "Great Mom. All done sleeping?" We climbed out of our mountain of blankets rubbed the sleep out of our eyes and walked out to see Daddy and brother in the yard face to face sharing secrets. They came in and the plot for another walk after the store, was on. I checked facebook
