Loving on the babes.
Every D. Goodan has now been a customer at the Central Montana Medical Center. I went in late night prego with Dom because I made a bad blood clot joke. Dominic was born there and poked and prodded in the beginning to find out why he wasn't gaining weight. Autumn shook our world with R.S.V. Last Saturday Dana woke me up with "Summer, I need your help." I didn't hear any cries so wasn't real sure why he would need me. One look on his face and the pain was obvious. He crawled around on the floor, we called the e.r and off Dana went to learn he has kidney stones. One in the kidney and another was making its way out, therefore causing him pain and earning him morphine. Mamma Jo and Papa Bob came to the house so I could sit with him in the hospital. The next day Lala showed up. It amazes me that just having a mom around makes things all better. Mondays, Mamma Jo takes Dominic so mother and Autumn and I just hung out watching a very out of it Dana anticipating the "most excrutiating pain to man". He was throwing up, sleeping, peeing in a jug and straining it to find the stone so it could be analyzed. By Tuesday he was still sick and groggy and nothing was changing. I had an apt. to get my mullet maintained and instantly thought (and shared with my mother) "great. should I cancel? are you kidding me? now what?" Me, me, me. I just wanted one day of ME! I still got the day, the do, and the bonus hanging out with my mother. Dana went to the doctor that shared "If you aren't a hardcore drug user these pain meds. will really mess you up". Ha!!! The drugs prescribed are the same one Lala takes for major remove the boobs surgery. So, yes they reeked havoc on mister Dana. Norslein (the chiro that has helped us so much with Dom and Autumn) mentioned that 6 cokes and 4oz. of blended asparagas would help to get the stone moving and out. Gross. Would love to tell you it worked but D. made it through 3 and out the soda  came. I wonder if it burned his nose like it does if you laugh and spit it out. Now, off the "hard stuff" staying hydrated and still straining pee, life is back to a bit of ordinary.
Lala left on Tuesday after my hair appointment (why can't I ever do it the way a pro does it?!) but Dominic and I were headed her way Wed. to visit during her chemo. We walked in to a very very stoned Lala!! It was great to see her get rest. It looked like an amazing rest! Dominic had some one on one time with his Papa Mark and Auntie Whitney fed him and cuddled him. We drove home shortly after I told the stoner we didn't have to go eat. I should have told her "I don't want to eat with you because if these drugs make you crap your pants I'm leaving you there." :) I was glad that Dom and I had the day to ourselves while Autumn played at Grammie Jos and Daddy D worked on his stone. I wonder if we should name it when it comes out? I want to keep it and put it on the mantel but I think after they test it it will be no more. Poor little stone.
Now we are in fair week. The parade was cute and we saw friends and waved to neighbors. We are constantly reminded why we love being here.  Yesterday the kiddos napped early and I thought we might miss the parade. Dom squeezed a sophie the giraffe and from the shadows I heard "OH, NO!" I ask "Whats the matter Autumn?" "I'm SO tired MOM!" It has begun. Soon Autumn will be telling on Dominic and Dominic will be tormenting his sister. Or the other way around. We made the parade and went to the fair and walked with Grammie and Papa Bob. They rode the carosel after two not so good rides and Autumn was back to happy. After we got home and got the kids in their jams and bed, Dana asked Autumn "where is your bottle?" (we've set Monday as our take the bottle away fiasco, we with backbones of sponge) Autumn to us, "I dunno, I don't care." She stood on the bed and danced in our mirror.
