Yesterday Autumn helped me do a little raking, she ate more dirt than she kicked leaves but she seemed to enjoy it. I asked to see her tongue and this was the shot I got. She must have swallowed the big clump I watched her gnaw on! We are starting to build great relationships with two other Moms and their little ones. Jorin (in the pic above) and his Mom Jenny, came over for a visit and some snacks. We were missing our Bruchez friends but Elizabeth is a busy busy Mom with two older boys that she volunteers at their school. It is incredible to have two other women in my life that have kids around Autumns age and older kids so that I can always run something by them. We just sit and power vent for a couple hours and its awesome! After spending a lot of alone time with Autumn I get used to making up responses to questions, or talking to myself or going over and over and over a new word or sign that we are working on. It feels good to see and chat with another Mom that is going through the same thing!
We had a baby apt. last Monday and all is great. Belly was 29 cm(right on track) and Dominic's heartbeat was 148. He even gave the doc a nice shove as she tried to listen for him. Things are going smoothly...well...as smoothly as they go:) Last night I made a trip up to the e.r to make sure a cramp in my leg wasn't anything more than that. I wasn't too concerned but obviously was worried enough to call my mother and ask about blood clots. I know I could have gone online as well but it's something calming to hear your mothers voice and to laugh it out. I told her I had said to Dana "If I die in the night make sure and tell them I knew it was a clot" and "I will be so mad if I die over this". To me it was a light hearted joke but then it but a bit of fear in me and the what ifs began for Dana and myself. So with the advice of "when in doubt just go" and a call to and from an o/b nurse I went to the hospital. Later on Dana and I joked it wouldn't be a Goodan pregnancy with out a visit to the ER, I fell out of a hammock with Autumn at about 22 weeks. Long story short version. I was told to keep an eye on it, take some Tylenol and use heat to get some relief and to take it easy. I didn't hear keep off it or lay on my butt all weekend so I will take it easy and call our regular doc. on Monday. I'm not "practicing massage" today but my mother is still coming to town so it is going to be a great Saturday!
I am in the process of applying to take the Nationals for massage therapy so that I can start to work at an incredible salon, Untangled. The girls up there are amazing and fun and have had tons of patience with me while I work with Montana and their hoops to jump through to work here.
Dana is doing great at Bob's Auto Mart. He is learning the ropes and has been alone since Wed. as the B. Goodans are visiting the C. Goodans, so the D. Goodans get a chance to see what it takes to run a business...Oofta. I'm glad I get to run in and say hi and hang out and then go home. I love that Dana is 5 mins away from us all day long. Autumn walks around the dealership like she owns the place and with some toys scattered around and a counter with snacks for her it could almost seem like it too.
Life is good, I'm still shocked it has only been 2 months. It seems longer some days and other days like we just got here. This is a great community and it's nice to feel apart of something. We are looking forward to winter but in the same breath a bit nervous. We have been freezing at night but still loving it...HA! Let's just see how we feel about feet of snow and below temps...Here comes winter!
