Pool Day

Today Autumn and I braved the Buckeye Pool. I've been avoiding it because #1 I think Buckeye is gross and #2 it's always incredibly crowded. Well, 110 degrees and blue water anywhere looks good. Also, when I was young we swam in the local creek (I say crick, Dana says creeeek). It wasn't ever gross to me. Even when we could see broken glass or smashed cans at the bottom. Especially when we came out reeking from the mud we plastered on our bodies and on innocents that just stopped to see the commotion! Anyway, today was great! The pool was refreshing, Autumn loved it and the Buckeye kids started school today so it was hardly busy! A handful of Moms and their kids and one couple that asked Autumns age. We chatted for a bit and found out that their daughter is due Jan. 26. Just a couple weeks after me. I gave them some ideas for cheap shopping and great docs in the area and a jamboree that we never got around to joining. They are from Ohio and have been here 3 months or 3 years. I feel bad I wasn't listening to well but before I could stop my big fat mouth I said "Good luck here, we are leaving Arizona, thank God!" I had to just let it go like mouth vomit that it was and try to cover up my disdain with "Buckeye has been good to us, we just miss our families and with another one...etc." We had a nice little chat, Autumn smiled, said hi, waved, did her motor boat trick and kick kick kicked. I excused myself to get the two of us some water and a snack and met them a little while later. Not sure if the woman was trying to get back at me or had the same turrets I had just experienced but when I waded over to them she said "Wow! Your ALOT bigger than my daughter. She hasn't gained near as much as you." Owie! I was thankful for the heat so my flushed cheeks weren't so obvious. I laughed a bit and said "Well it is our 2nd child and they say you show much quicker". She didn't miss a beat, "You're just a lot bigger than our daughter, maybe because your older?" Okay, nice chat lady. Good luck in Arizona where you are so close to hell you can see the flames (got that handy dandy from my mother)! We did visit a bit longer before Autumn the wonderful got antsy and we just HAD to go...I quickly loaded our gear and trotted my prego self to Jack in the Box where I indulged in a whole meal to myself!!!
