Five pee wake ups, two chocolate chip cookie eats, and one peanut butter honey wrap and the night is gone. Autumn is enjoying her morning bottle of milk (dressed up with a bit of formula so she will drink it)and all is quiet. We've had some great weather here in the eye of the Buck. We are convinced that miss Autumn said "no daddy" when Dana tried to give her something and giggle and wrinkle our faces when she says please. She's a great mimic with sounds, which means I really really need to clean up my mouth and she is amazingly fast!
Yesterday we went to lunch looking on at the dark clouds hopeful we would get some rain. It became a down pour! We really meant to be in Babys R Us for essentials, diaper genie refills and short spoons for Miss Independent. When the rain didn't let up we just wandered the store and found must haves such as mini drumsticks and a tambourine. We did remember to get a new bink for Vampira who has taken a great liking to the sound of ripping rubber.
Babys R is a great place to get your baby fix or to wish upon wish that the belly rolls would start to look like a prego belly instead of a spare tire. It's one of the few places in Phoenix that I have found responsive strangers. We saw teeny tiny feet and big green bow in the arms of a woman that looked like she just stepped out of the salon. We stopped and asked the baby's' age "5 weeks and I can't tame this hair, I even tried to blow dry it". Oh cute, oooo, ahhhh and a " You look great" from me thrown in there. What new mom doesn't want to hear that and she did look amazing. It was a little awkward when she leaned in and said "we adopted her, I got the easy part". We didn't miss a beat said our congrats and moved on to browse for more items Autumn must have. I felt weird in my gut though. I kept hoping that I didn't offend her then I had to stop and think "this and that conversation have absolutely nothing to do with you Summer!" What woman doesn't like to hear she looks great and who cares how that wonderful little girl ended up in her arms. I was having a sweet sentimental moment when Daddy D said "Jared was telling me about Irish pregnancies, you know when you get prego while you are prego". I chuckled and said "You didn't fall for it did you?" "Well kinda". Oh sweet Dana thank you for that. All I could imagine was him coming home and me telling him we are preggers again. One due in Jan and another in April. Oh the insanity that would be:)It was a cute moment and for just a second I thought wouldn't a house full of babies just be the best ever! Then I heard a screamer, watched Autumns eyes get really big wondering what is that and should I join in and the moment passed. All in all it was a great great rainy day. I even finished a book and Dana got to finish a movie. I think he has tried 3 times to watch Old Dogs. Autumn was very giving yesterday. Let's see how today goes;)
